Privacy Policy

Short version: the calculator runs in your browser, we do not ask for or store the numbers you enter, and we do not use tracking cookies.

What the calculator does with your inputs

Your age, pay and coverage choices are processed entirely on your device by code that runs in your browser. They are not transmitted to us or to any server, are not stored by us, and are discarded when you close the page. The rate tables the page loads are static files that are the same for every visitor.

Share links

The "Copy a link to these numbers" button builds a web address that contains your inputs (age, pay, options and retirement assumptions) as part of the address. Nothing is sent to us when you create it. If you share that address, anyone who opens it sees those inputs. Treat it like any other link that describes you.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This site sets no cookies and currently uses no analytics or advertising trackers. If we add a privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics service in future, this policy will be updated before it goes live.

Hosting logs

The site is served by a content delivery network. Like any web host, it may record standard connection data (such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time) in server logs for security and reliability purposes, under its own privacy policy. We do not combine such logs with anything you type into the calculator.

Links to other sites

Links to OPM, to source documents and to private insurance providers lead to sites with their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Some provider links are affiliate links; following one may let the provider and its affiliate network know you arrived from this site. See the affiliate disclosure.

Children

The site is intended for adults making decisions about federal employee benefits and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
